Dang that's Flippin Boonta: Art Exhibition Opening

Ty's collection of works are an exploration into mixed media drawing and collage. Investigating the human psyche, these works depict characters of fantasy, desire and quirkiness with a touch of dark humour. Using everyday imagery, Ty forms suggestive arrangements using his drawing as a tool of manipulation. It is the working, covering, extracting, and making mistakes that bring life to these pieces.

Ty Brookhart, originally from Alberta, Canada, has been creating art in South Australia for the last 8 years. Majoring in drawing, Ty recently completed a visual arts degree but chooses to work in a broad range of mediums; painting, sculpture and illustration. Intrigued by the dark aspects of human nature and with a sick sense of humour, his works range from realism through to abstract. With aspirations to explore the international art scene through residencies and travel, Ty is currently focusing on local collaborations and building his profile in Adelaide.
